(Participants under 18)
I understand and certify that my or my child's participation in Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures' programs and its activities is completely voluntary, and I have familiarized myself with the programs and activities in which I, or my child, will be participating.
I recognize that certain hazards and dangers are inherent in the Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures programs and activities, including but not limited to boating, mountain biking, ropes and challenge courses, off-campus events, hiking, and zip line. I acknowledge that although Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures has taken safety measures to minimize the risk of injury to program participants, Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures cannot insure nor guarantee that the participants, equipment, premises, and/or activities will be free of hazards, accidents, and/or injuries. I further recognize or have instructed my child in the importance of knowing and abiding by the behavior expectations, regulations, and procedures for the safety of all participants.
In consideration of Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures accepting and permitting me or my child to attend the program and participate in the activities, I agree that Douglas County School District, Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures and their directors, officers, employees, agents, trustees, and volunteers will not be liable for any injury, death, damage and/or loss to my child, and/or anyone claiming on my or my child’s behalf, and I further agree to hold harmless, indemnify and defend the Douglas County School District, Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures and their directors, officers, employees, agents, trustees, and volunteers for and from any and all liability, claims, causes of actions, losses, injuries, expenses, fees, judgements, and/ or damages arising out of any injury, illness, or death to me or my child or property damage during the time of my or my child’s attendance at Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures, whether such injury, illness or damage occurs on or off Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures premises.
Every individual participating in Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures programs and its activities must carry health/accident insurance coverage. Douglas County School District does not offer any medical/accident insurance to participating students, and makes no claim to do so.
COVID Assumption of Risk
Participation in the Douglas County School District RE-1(“District”) activities is entirely voluntary and at participant’s sole risk. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is thought to spread primarily from person-to-person contact. As a result, the District is implementing preventative measures intended to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission during its activities. However, the District cannot guarantee that a participant will not become infected with COVID-19. Participation in the District’s activities could increase a participant’s risk of contracting COVID-19. Participants shall comply with District policies, rules, and regulations during activities, including those measures implemented by the District to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Participants who fail to comply with such measures will not be permitted to participate.
