What is a typical day like?
What is bunk life like?
Our individual bunks are places of respect. For many campers, this is their first time sharing a communal living space, and we encourage all of our cabin groups to set their own expectations so a cohesive group form throughout the session. Our cabin groups are 10-14 campers with one cabin counselor to supervise, support, and create a welcoming atmosphere where new friendships can flourish!
What activities are offered?
Team Sports: Basketball, football, soccer, ultimate frisbee, baseball, kickball, volleyball
The Arts: Tie-dye, arts & crafts, drawing, painting, nature sculptures
Adventure: Teambuilding, Archery, Zip Line, High Ropes Course
Other: GaGa, Yoga, Water Games, Cooking, Ultimate Frisbee, Group Games, Hiking
Can I send mail home?
We send mail out from camp every morning after breakfast. There will be an outgoing mailbox in the dining hall. Bringing pre-addressed envelopes to camp is never a bad idea!
How many campers will be at Stone Canyon?
Our camp capacity is 70 campers. Each cabin group is 10-14 campers. During Clubs and Camper's Choice you can expect to be with 8-15 campers, depending on the activity.
What are the counselors like?
Stone Canyon counselors are simply amazing! All of our staff are over the age of 18 and are chosen to be part of the team based on their ability to lead campers, laugh at themselves, teach a variety of activities, and make genuine connections!
What happens if my birthday happens when I'm at camp?
We love to celebrate camper birthdays and our chefs will create an amazing dessert for your big day! Parents are allowed to call you on your birthday if are celebrating the day at Stone Canyon.
Can I bring my iPod, tablet, phone, or other electronics?
Electronics are not allowed at Stone Canyon Summer Camp.
What should I wear at camp?
We usually have great weather during the summer at Stone Canyon! We are able to wear shorts and a t-shirt during the day, and change into long pants and a sweatshirt at night. Some of our activities will require long pants/sleeves, so be sure to pack those too. Closed toed shoes. like tennis shoes are required for all activities. Flip flops or sandals are great to wear around the cabin.
How do showers work?
All of our cabins have private showers and cabin bunks are assigned a daily shower time. Campers are also permitted to shower during free time if they choose.
