How much does it cost to attend Stone Canyon Summer Camp?
$1,215/camper/week
How old does my child have to be to attend summer camp?
Stone Canyon is open to kids between the ages of 9-15 during the time they attend camp.
When are the session dates for summer 2024?
Session 1: June 19-15
Session 2: June 16-22
Session 3: June 23-29
Session 4: July 7-13
Session 5: July 14-20
When is my payment due?
A deposit is required upon registration to reserve your campers’ spot. Additional payment dates can be found on our Dates & Rates page.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you must cancel your session, we will require the cancellation in writing.
If you must cancel your registration due to COVID, we will require a physician’s written verification. For any cancellations due to COVID, on the participant or Stone Canyon’s end, you will be given a refund of your tuition minus $150 for registration fees.
Cancellation requests due to illness or accident before the session start date will require a physician’s written verification. Upon receipt of verification, tuition minus half of the block’s cancellation fee will be refunded.

What is your dismissal policy?
If a child behaves or makes choices in a way that we determine to be potentially harmful to the physical or emotional safety of themselves or others, or engages in a behavior that could be considered unlawful, it is at the camp director’s discretion to remove and dismiss a child from camp. If this should take place, a parent or guardian will be contacted to make arrangements for a child’s return home. Parents will have no more than 12 hours before their child must be off camp premises. Failure to do so could result in the child being turned over to protective services. Removal of a child from camp will be at the parent’s expense, and no rebate or refund of tuition will be given. We hope that no child is dismissed from camp, but we will take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of every child in camp at all times.
How is laundry handled at camp?
Campers who are staying for one week are not offered laundry services. However, should a camper have an accident or run out of clean clothes, we do have laundry machines on site.
Preparing for Camp
Can my child request a cabin mate?
We will do our best to honor cabin mate requests as indicated on your camper's registration. Sometimes, due to space or age difference, we cannot grant every request.
What if my camper takes medication?
At Stone Canyon, medications are defined as prescription medications, over the counter medications, topical creams, and supplements.
- A medication form is required for all medications. The medication form can be found here. This form is not complete unless it has a signature from a physician and a parent or guardian. If we do not have a completed form for a medication then we cannot administer that medication
- All medications will be turned in on the first day to our camp nurse. You will have an opportunity to speak with the nurse to go over your campers’ medical needs.
- Any leftover medication at the end of the week will be returned at check-out.
We can administer Tylenol and Benadryl at camp as long as you give Stone Canyon permission to administer over the counter medications on the registration form.
You have a camp store?! How does my kid get in on that action?
Campers have the chance to visit our camp store every day over free time. Here they can purchase Gatorade, snacks, and apparel.
Parents can deposit money into their camper’s accounts online (Camp Store) and check on the balance during check-in.
Food and drink items cost $1-2 and campers are limited to 2 food items and 1 drink item per day. A typical camper spends $15-30 at the camp store each week.
Camp store account money is non-refundable when the campers account is below $5.00. Since these accounts are non-refundable, any remaining fund can applied towards apparel purchases during pick-up or donated to camp. All donations will be used to support future summer camp tuition assistance.
What items are not allowed at Stone Canyon?
The following items are considered contraband and will be collected by our staff. They will be returned to your child on departure day:
- Gum, candy, or any kind of food
- Any electronic device (phone, video games, tablets, laptops, mp3 players,etc)
- Any kind of weapons, including knives
- Matches or lighters
What does drop-off look like on arrival day?
Drop off for camp takes place on Sunday from 1:30 pm-3 pm.
When you arrive for check-in be sure the following documents are with you OR you have uploaded to your camper’s active account
- Camper Physical (completed within the last year)
- Immunization Record (completed on the official Colorado immunization form)
- Mediation Release Form (Only if you are dropping off prescription medications, over the counter medications, and supplements)
What does pick-up look like on departure day?
Camper pick up is on Saturday between 10:30am - 11:30am
We can only release campers to parents/guardians and persons listed as an authorized pick-up. Anyone picking up a camper is required to present a photo ID when signing a camper out of camp.
Camp store accounts will be settled and apparel will be available for purchase at pick-up.
Camp Time!!
How can I contact my child during their session?
We do not allow our campers to make or receive phone calls at camp. Exceptions would be made for family emergencies or if your child has a birthday while at camp.
However, we do encourage families to write to their camper while they are at Stone Canyon. There is nothing like getting a letter or package from your friends and family while at camp! Mail Call takes place during Free Time. We do not do Mail Call on arrival or departure days. Please do not send food or snacks in the mail to your camper.
There are a few ways you can write your camper while they are at Stone Canyon:
- Family and friends can send a letter or package in the mail. When sending something via snail mail, please account for three days for the letter to arrive at Stone Canyon. Please address mail in the following format:

- Family and friends can send an email to campers while they are at camp. Emails will be printed at 1pm each day. Any emails sent after 1pm will be delivered the next day. When sending an email, please include your camper’s name in the subject line. Send all emails to the following email address:
- Letters and packages can be dropped off on arrival day. Family and friends can pre-write letters and drop them off at the same time they are dropping off their camper. When dropping off the letters, be sure to label them with the day you would like each letter/package delivered to your camper.
How often will my camper shower?
All campers are expected to shower at least once a day. Shower times are assigned to ensure everyone has enough time to clean up and smell good! All of our showers, as well as our restrooms, are private.
How are dietary restrictions and allergies addressed?
Our chefs are experienced and work tirelessly to prepare delicious and healthy meals for our campers. We are able to accommodate most food allergies and dietary restrictions, however there are rare cases when we may require a child to bring their own supplemental food that our chefs can prepare. Please be specific as possible when filling out your camper's health form when it comes to allergies. Based on the information provided, our nurse or chef may give you a call to get additional information.
We are a nut-aware facility. We serve no nuts, but may have items processed in facilities where nuts are processed.
How is homesickness handled at Stone Canyon?
If this is your child's first time away, homesickness can be a completely normal experience. Typically, with a packed schedule, our camper's are so engaged with what they are doing they do not have time to think about what they miss at home! However, when homesickness arises, our staff is trained to process that experience with the camper and support them as they move through it. It is generally not our policy to have a camper call home when feeling homesick, as it often makes the situation worse.
Parents can help out by letting their camper know how proud they are and how excited they are to hear about their adventures before they leave for camp. When writing your camper, please make every attempt to not express how much you miss your camper. Instead, ask questions about their session and activities and how you are looking forward to hearing about their experience!

What is a typical day like?
What is bunk life like?
Our individual bunks are places of respect. For many campers, this is their first time sharing a communal living space, and we encourage all of our cabin groups to set their own expectations so a cohesive group form throughout the session. Our cabin groups are 10-14 campers with one cabin counselor to supervise, support, and create a welcoming atmosphere where new friendships can flourish!
What activities are offered?

The Arts: Tie-dye, arts & crafts, drawing, painting, nature sculptures
Adventure: Teambuilding, Archery, Zip Line, High Ropes Course

Can I send mail home?
We send mail out from camp every morning after breakfast. There will be an outgoing mailbox in the dining hall. Bringing pre-addressed envelopes to camp is never a bad idea!
How many campers will be at Stone Canyon?
Our camp capacity is 70 campers. Each cabin group is 10-14 campers. During Clubs and Camper's Choice you can expect to be with 8-15 campers, depending on the activity.
What are the counselors like?
Stone Canyon counselors are simply amazing! All of our staff are over the age of 18 and are chosen to be part of the team based on their ability to lead campers, laugh at themselves, teach a variety of activities, and make genuine connections!
What happens if my birthday happens when I'm at camp?
We love to celebrate camper birthdays and our chefs will create an amazing dessert for your big day! Parents are allowed to call you on your birthday if are celebrating the day at Stone Canyon.
Can I bring my iPod, tablet, phone, or other electronics?
Electronics are not allowed at Stone Canyon Summer Camp.
What should I wear at camp?
We usually have great weather during the summer at Stone Canyon! We are able to wear shorts and a t-shirt during the day, and change into long pants and a sweatshirt at night. Some of our activities will require long pants/sleeves, so be sure to pack those too. Closed toed shoes like tennis shoes are required for all activities. Flip flops or sandals are great to wear around the cabin.
How do showers work?
All of our cabins have private showers and cabin bunks are assigned a daily shower time. Campers are also permitted to shower during free time if they choose.
